About Annotations

Annotations is a bi-weekly newsletter published by the Journal of Public and International Affairs (JPIA) featuring short commentary and blog-style writing on timely topics in domestic policy, international relations and development, and economic policy from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) students and alumni.

Annotations serves as an extension to JPIA’s annual flagship publication that is published every May. Our mission is to create an accessible platform that amplifies more voices within Princeton SPIA, while lowering the barrier to publication.

Why

While submissions to Princeton JPIA’s annual issue undergo a months-long peer review process with editors at partner policy schools, Annotations is a forum for timely, blog-style writing from SPIA students, with quicker editing turnaround times. Each month will feature a series of original articles from SPIA students to facilitate healthy discourse on an issue that is reflective of the diverse viewpoints of our community.

Contribute

We seek short, op-ed style pieces between 500 and 1000 words that present sharp and insightful perspectives on relevant topics in the policy sphere.

Interested in contributing? Send a brief email to jpia@princeton.edu outlining your topic and/or argument in less than 250 words.
